Information For Authors

The SW&S-Journal is an Open Access Online Journal for Social Work and Social Policy. As an international journal the SW&S-Journal is using English as a standard language. Publication in other languages is possible. Non-English papers have a comprehensive abstract with at least 400-500 words in English.

Authors, interested in matters of social work, social welfare and social policy are very welcome to submit contributions of various kinds: Special Issues, SW&S Forum and Glossary

Special Issue-Articles (5000 - 8000 words) and SW&S Special Issues

Articles can also be submitted to the announced special issues. The SW&S-Journal welcomes guest editors for special issues. Special Issues have to be focused on a highly relevant scientific topic in the fields of social work and social policy. Proposals for Special Issues comprise a sketch (200-400 words), the working titles of the Special Issue articles and the designated authors (4-7).

SW&S Forum (5000 - 8000 words)

The SW&S-Journal is happy to receive papers on topics concerning social work and society from all fields of social work, social welfare and social policy. Once articles are submitted they will be peer-reviewed by at least two referees (double blind). There will be a feedback of the comments of the referees to the authors by the articles editor.

Glossary

The SW&S Glossary gives a review on main keywords in social work and social policy (1000 words). Each glossary contains the following three parts: a definition (I), main issues (II) and critical placements & perspectives (III). SW&S include five pivotal references.

Papers:
Papers should exclusively be submitted by e-mail in Rich Text Format (.rtf) to the paper editor.

Summary:
Articles, Country Notes, Essay, Historical Portraits, Research Notes, and Social Reports should have a summary of about 150 words and convey the principal ideas, methodology, results and main conclusions. Non-English papers need a detailed English abstract (400-500 words).

References:
All references should be placed at the end of the submission (no citation in footnotes).

Keywords and URL:
Every paper should be added with 5 keywords. We invite you to send two or three URL central to the topics discussed in the paper/report/portrait/etc.

Tables:
Please send tables or figures in .rtf, word- and .gif, .jpg, or tiff format.

Information about the Author:
Please add your name, academic title, institution, and e-mail-address and - if available - a link (URL) to your homepage or website. You may also include your office address and phone number, if you want it to be published.
